Downtown District
As a local Southampton Village retailer and business owner, the village downtown is an important historic part of the iconic Southampton Village. The area should have the right look and feel for a village of this significance.
The Arts Center is also an important part of the community, and I would like to make sure it is better utilized to be a major part of the community as well as to bring in revenue for the village.
The downtown district needs new, younger energy to fit with the community's needs.
Balancing The Budget
The Southampton Village budget currently needs overhaul as expenses are rising and revenues are not keeping pace with the growth of costs. This requires prudent oversight and fiscally responsible decision making. This is the type of decision making that is essential in running a competitive and seasonal retail business that I have been able to navigate effectively for seven years.
Thoughtful Infrastructure Planning
A potential new sewage system is on the horizon for the village of Southampton. It is my goal to explore the extent that Southampton can absorb the millions of dollars of costs associated with this and also to prevent any potential restaurant sprawl that would negatively affect the landscape of the village.
Protecting Our Environment
Agawam Lake remains extremely polluted and dangerous to the community. This is one of the first issues that I will address. The environment is extremely important, both the village as well as Long Island as a whole, and it is an extremely important issue to me as well.
